Do not become complacent in the horrors of the world.
Allow yourself to BE broken hearted. Feel the physical heart ache of all of the tragedies that happen in this world each and every second. Look up statistics, videos, whatever is needed. See it for what it is. Feel the fear. You can do that because you have felt it before. Feel how horrible that would be to be in constant fear. Perhaps you know that feeling too well, already.
Bring yourself to tears! But only for a moment! Don’t get caught in the story!
USE this deep heartache. Know that it is a true feeling. Authentic. Let this feeling guide you to you to another feeling; the feeling of wanting to take action to STOP the suffering. Let the burning of anger at all injustice propel you toward the desire to change the circumstances of everyone who feels fear, for any reason.
Feel that desire, that passion.
THIS is the feeling place to DO from, to actually take action.
But, where to start?
Start with what you know best. Yourself.
The stronger you are, the more you are able to help others. Remember that, in case of an emergency on an airplane you have to put on your OWN oxygen mask before you can help any one else. (What good are you if you can’t breathe?) Not just your children, or partner, or parents, or clients – but the entire world.
And we KNOW the earth and all of her people need all the help we can get!
When you work on yourself – your self – you really do benefit everything and everyone.
But you need to be careful that you are working at the foundation – your authentic self. Working on yourself from a place of “ego”, or where you think you are, builds an even bigger ego and a very weak foundation for a truly happy life.
You need to start where you are. The basement. And you find your basement by feeling. 'Cuz it’s dark. 'Cuz you turned the lights out so you didn’t have to look at the mess any more. So feel your way carefully to the light. You might bump into things every once in a while, and get a bruise or three, but don’t turn back. If you turn back, there will definitely be more bumps and bruises, but no movement forward. No reward. Just more suffering.
So, be gentle with yourself and there will be less bruising.
There are tools. Many tools and methods that you can learn and work with to find your way in the dark. To help your eyes adjust, so you CAN see your way, which helps to stop the bumps and bruises. So when you see the light, you can turn it on!
Then begins the joyful work of throwing stuff out! Getting rid of old, obsolete and unhelpful ways of thinking. Moldy was of seeing the world. Dusting off the mirrors so you can really see the BEAUTY that you are.
It’s when the light is on that we can truly see where we are and what needs to be done in order to get to where (and what) we want.
It’s only then that we can see the world clearly and know what needs to be done to repair it as well.
Repair and clean until we have a brand new, gigantic, shiny space where ANYTHING can happen!
It's not too far, or too hard. The work is joyful when you have friends along...
Party at your house!
